Madisons Baptism Day

Madison chose to be baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Saturday, March 28, 2009. We had a few family members down to join us for her special day. We appreciate their support and love. We love Madison and are so proud of the special girl she has become.
Mom, Madison and Dad
Madison, Gretchen and Lindsey
These three girls are all in the same primary class and were able to be baptized on the same day. Our ward had their own session from the Stake.
Abby, Grandma L, Madison, Kelsee and Bailey
Today was bitter sweet. I felt a void not having my dad to celebrate this
special day with us. I sure do miss him.

Aunt Karen was also not able to come to Maddy's baptism. She had gotten really sick while we were in Hawaii and spent almost a week recovering from pnemonia and ARDS. She is getting better each day and will be returning to work soon. We missed her.

Madison's Baptism Pictures

A friend of mine took these awesome pictures of Madison. Before her baptism, I wanted some pictures of Madison in her dress. I asked her if she would take some pictures for me because I have seen her blog and the pictures she has posted. They are amazing. She was so nice to meet us on a Sunday evening and take time away from her family. She is very talented as you can see by the pictures.

Madison looks pretty cute too...Thanks Julie!

David Archuleta Concert

David Archuleta came to concert here in St. George. It happened to be the day we got back from Hawaii. The kids had fun but looked a little zoned out at times. Here is the favorite song of the night.

Happy Birthday Madison #8

It's All about the CAKE!
Maddy wanted me to surprise her with a cake. I got to choose. I know how much she loves pet shops so I added a couple of new petshops on top and decorated with sprees. I had a more elaborate idea but decided to go with the easy version.

We usually let the kids choose where they want to eat out for dinner. Maddy wanted me to bring her McDonalds for lunch at school and for me to make dinner. One of her favorite meals is "Grandma's" mashed potatoes. Nothing fancy...just plain old mashed potatoes with country style gravy mixed with ground hamburger. Sometimes kids are so easy to please!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MADISON...WE LOVE YOU!

Rapelling

A few weeks ago, Kelsee was invited to go rapelling with some of the scouts and a couple of other girls. She had never been rapelling before. They first tried a 30 foot cliff to ease them into the bigger one. The next cliff was 120 feet high! She was a little freaked out to say the least but in the end she did it! It was better for me to hear about it afterwards and see the pictures instead of being there. I would have been the one freaking out FOR her!

Tag

I was tagged by my friend Stacie. The tag is easy. This is my sixth photo folder and my fourth photo (it asked for my 6th picture in the folder but there were only four), explain it and tag 6 friends.
This picture is of Madison the first couple of months after we moved down to St. George. She is taking a quick bath in the kitchen sink. It actually is one of my favorite photos of her.

I tag Julie, Jeanine, Jamie P., Marissa, Jamie L., Jordan
Remember...the 6th picture folder and the 6th photo in the folder.

Happy Birthday Bailey #4

Today is Bailey's birthday. She is four years old. She has been on cloud nine all day today. She keeps telling us it's her birthday and how old she is. She went to primary today and was called up so they could sing to her. My friend Jeanine said that Bailey was smiling from ear to ear the whole time they sung to her and soaked it all up.She also went to visit the Bishop for a special treat.

When I asked Bailey what she wanted for her birthday cake, she said a mermaid. So I went to Harmons to see what they had and was unsuccessful. I looked up mermaid cakes online and came across this cake. I really wasn't thinking much about how big this cake was until I tried to lay it out and realized I needed something fairly large to put it on. We found a cardboard box and made that work. It took 3 cake mixes and 2 batches of frosting.

As I was frosting the cake, Bailey got a sad look in her eyes and said, "but I wanted a little mermaid cake...not a big one!" After we finished the cake she started to giggle and when I asked her if she liked it she nodded yes.

I guess she didn't want to make two trips so she loaded up.

We invited a couple families to come over after church to celebrate Bailey's birthday and to help us eat the cake. Bailey had a great day.
