ROCKER CHICK!

Bailey loves to dance and perform. My favorite is the air guitar on the floor. :)

BAILEY SAYS...

Bailey is four and has been expanding her vocabulary lately. She says a lot of interesting things that shock me. I laugh about it and later when I go to write it down it has left my mind. So I am trying to keep track of a few things that make me laugh.

1. The other day Bailey asked me if I struggle. I gave her a perplexed look and then she asked what struggle means. Jared told her and as he was telling her, I tuned my ears into the baseball game that her dad was watching and realized they were using that word while they were talking about a batter who was struggling. I guess a lesson from that...be careful what you watch.

2. Today I was helping Bailey get dressed for gymnastics. She wanted to wear a leotard that didn't fit her anymore. I pulled out a plain black one for her to wear and she said, "No way! That doesn't have any STYLE...." I'm not sure where she gets that from.

3. She also asked me today what the word mate meant. Not sure where she heard that one. I told her people from Australia call each other mates when they are referring to their friends. She then ran around the house calling all her sisters mate. She cracks me up.

4. Yesterday her friend gave her a My Little Pony Skywish. She carries it around telling the pony her wishes. Today, she kept telling her pony she wishes that her mom and dad would be nice to her. I asked her how we are mean and she said we put her in timeout and we don't get her a snow cone every day. Now that's mean!

STICKY GUM

While I was at a back to school night, Bailey was home with her dad and older sisters. Having a little extra alone and "free" time, Bailey decided to have some fun. After she realized her fun had ended, she decided to get some help. The conversation went something like this...
"Dad, I'm sticky." Dad replies, "go wash your hands."
Bailey states, "I can't, I'm sticky all over."
Then comes the discovery....
GUM
All over her face, hands, hair and eyelashes!
I was amazed that Jared actually took these pictures. He had his phone handy so he snapped the pics. I came home right after the pictures and at the beginning of Jared trying to wipe off the gum with toilet paper. HMMMM???
I have had a gum/hair experience with each child. Peanut butter works wonders. However, I wondered to myself how I was going to get it out of her lashes. Just for future reference...peanut butter worked on it all. It was quite the mess before we finally got her cleaned up. I am hoping she has learned to KEEP HER GUM IN HER MOUTH!

PRESCHOOL

BAILEY is the baby of the family.  She is growing up too fast.  She is all girl and loves to wear makeup and dress up.  One of her favorite things to do is video and take pictures of herself on Photo Booth.

She started preschool this week and has some concerns about the whole thing.  First of all, she only has 3 friends (poor thing)!  Her good friend from last year started Kindergarten.  Second, I asked her if she made new friends and she told me no, there was a boy with an oval head and he was being weird.  Last of all, she came home today and told me a girl was acting FABULOUS!  I asked Bailey what exactly the girl was doing and she replied, "She was being mean to everyone!"  I asked her if she thought FABULOUS meant being mean and she replied, "YES!  It's when you can't be nice because you think you are FABULOUS!"  Geez...I really need to get up to speed on things.  :)
She cracks me up!

24th of July Celebration

THE CANDY DROP!!!!
Every 24th of July, my mom's ward puts on a
24th of July celebration for the town.
The highlight is the airplane that flies over the ball field and drops candy.
Bailey and Madison after they collected their loot.
Notice the hard hats. One year, they dropped suckers from the plane and one hit a lady in the head. She ended up getting stitches because it cut her head open. After that, they learned to not drop suckers (sticks) and decided to have the kids wear hard hats.
Bailey having fun!!!

SNAKE RIVER

This year we decided we would take the kids on a float trip down the Snake River while up in Wyoming. I chose to do the scenic ride so Bailey could come along. She gets left behind a lot and my guilt got the better of me that day. It lasted about 3 hours and by the end Bailey was begging for "white water". We did hit a couple of small patches and I guess she thought that was way more exciting than just floating down the river looking at bald eagles, the Tetons and the scenery.

Abby took this picture. She called it rainbow clouds.

AFTER
Bailey about an hour or so after the trip started...needless to say there is a reason why you leave your youngest at home sometimes.
The kids had a fun time and we saw quite a few bald eagles.

Palisades Lake

While visiting my mom, we went to hang out at Palisades Lake. I took a raft, packed a lunch and headed for the lake. The kids weren't sure about hanging out there, (no boat) but made the best of the afternoon and had a little fun.

Star Valley visit

We went up to visit my mom in Star Valley this summer. My brother Kyle and his family were visiting from Texas. The kids love playing with their cousins. The older kids made great babysitters for their 2 year old.
Kayla and Kelsee
My kids loved playing with Kayla and were quite entertained by her cute personality.
Sisters hanging out...

Madison, Bailey, Hayden and Garret showing off their t-shirts they made at Grandma's house.
Abby, Kelsee and Casidy showing off their tees.
Abby, Kelsee and Casidy thinking they are a little too cool!
Hayden and Kayla...Hayden wasn't too sure about all the hugs Kayla was trying to give him while he was eating. I kept trying to take pictures of his funny expressions but I never quite captured it.

Zions

On our way back from the cabin, we drove through Zions and took the kids on a hike to the mouth of the narrows. They had fun playing in the water.
We stopped by the visitors center for our friends out of town guest to buy a couple of souvenirs. Bailey wanted to buy the store out and got pretty upset when I told her no. She got really quiet and looked up and asked "well, will you at least take a picture of it so I remember what it looks like?" This is her posing with one of a number of items she spotted. The bird happened to be her favorite find.

Sunmer Fun

Our friends invited us to go up to their family cabin and hang out for a couple of days. The kids had a blast playing in the pond, going down the zip line, roasting marshmallows, singing camp fire songs, swinging, playing games, doing crafts, hanging out and having fun.
Abby P, Madison, Sarah, Abby S., Grant, Emma, Jack, James and Bailey making silly faces. Trying to get the group to all sit up, smile and look at the camera was asking too much that day. What a rowdy looking bunch!!
