2011 - Madison's 10th Birthday

Happy 10th Birthday, Maddy!
Maddy doesn't love cake. Instead of a birthday cake, she requested moon pie. It is like an eclair....a very BIG eclair.
YUMMY!
Maddy loves to light the candles.
Maddy getting ready to blow out the candles.
I didn't take a sister picture because Kelsee had just arrived home from swim and didn't want a "close up" for me to post later.....GIRLS! :)
Maddy had only one request for her birthday...
NUTELLA
Wow...she is easy ;)
She did happen to score a few other gifts.
Happy Birthday Madison. We love you!

2011 - Happy 6th Birthday Bailey

The night before Bailey's birthday, she asked me if I would serve her breakfast in bed. Due to Kindergarten testing, she was the only one not attending school. I told her, "I would see" but as mother's we all know how tHaT can turn out. After getting everyone off to school, I peeked in to see if Bailey was awake. Since she was still asleep I decided to SURPRISE her! Needless to say she felt very spoiled and the rest of my kids (upon seeing this picture) were jealous and wanted to know why I haven't served tHeM breakfast in bed. Well, I guess they never asked :) Maybe one of these birthday's, they may get surprised. We will just have to see!
Bailey loves to go to the Pasta Factory. It is her favorite place to eat. We invited her friend Brynley and her mom to come join us. They surprised Bailey with a yummy cookie ice cream dessert at the end of our meal. It was delicious! Again, someone is getting pretty spoiled. ;)
Out to eat for dinner at Samurai 21 with the family. Bailey loves the soup and fried rice.
Opening presents.....
Showing off her new bike. I forgot to request no training wheels since she already knows how to ride a bike. She wanted to make it very clear to me that she didn't need them.
Bailey wanted a Justin Beiber cake. I called around and it just does not exist. So, I told her we could make our own. I had different ideas than she and the cake turned out to be her creation. I visualized something very different but in the end, the cake looked cute and she was smiling from ear to ear showing off her efforts.
....sidenote: sometimes, it is really hard for mom, a little on the "control freak" side, to hand the reigns over to the kids. I am glad I did!
...sisters being silly
Happy Birthday Bailey. We love you!

2011 - Madison Choir Performance

Maddy is part of the Little Valley Elementary choir. They were able to perform at Tuachan along with 9 other schools. The schools did an opening number and a closing number together. In between, each school performed a western song. The kids were very entertaining and fun to watch.

Happy New Year!

What a wonderful surprise for the kids to wake up to a blanket of snow covering the ground. We usually see snow about once a year here in St. George. Waking up to a winter wonderland the day before the kids had to go back to school was quite a bonus to the holiday season!
The kids had so much fun using up the snow in their own yards, they even asked the neighbors if they could use their snow. They are having a blast. Sometimes the simple things in life are what make life great. No electronics in sight!
This is the BEST kind of snow! Great for making a snowman (or woman).

Bailey and her "mini me" snow girl. She said, "Come look mom. It's just my size." She was so proud of her creation, I just had to snap a picture. Look at her smiling from ear to ear.
