BEAUTY IS the Imagination of a child

This year for Reflections, the theme was Beauty Is....
Madison entered the photography category with this picture of Bailey. The title of her photo was Beauty is the imagination of a child. Bailey loves to dress up so Maddy had her get all dressed up and had Bailey pose.
Along with four other children, Maddy won an award. Her photo will now be sent on to district.
Good job Madison!

Happy Birthday Kelsee - October 28

Happy Birthday Kelsee...This makes 17!
Kelsee is a junior this year at Desert Hills High School. This year in school she is taking some pretty hard classes. She amazes me with her dedication to do well in school as well as anything she sets her mind to do. She is very talented. She loves to play the violin and piano. She is taking a drawing class this year and has drawn some really awesome pictures. She also loves to swim. If she is not doing homework or hanging out with friends, she is at swim practice. It seems like yesterday when she was just learning to crawl and just around the corner she will be heading off to college...makes me feel old!
Love ya Kelsee!
Opening presents...
I'll just have one bite....
Kelsee picked Samauri 21 for her birthday dinner.
free birthday dessert...yummy!

Bailey Swimming Lessons

This summer Bailey took a survival swimming class. In just two weeks she learned to jump in and turn on her back and float and then to turn over and swim to the side. She is now in the category of "scary" swimming. Half the time she looks like she might be drowning. That is the scary part for her mom.
Her favorite part of the lessons was diving for the rings.

Labor Day Weekend

For Labor Day weekend, we headed up to Logan to get together with some cousins and hang out with the family. Grandma Luthi came from Star Valley and we stayed with Aunt Karen.
CARD MAKING....
MAKING SUGAR COOKIES!
Bailey loves to roll and cut out the shapes.
EXTRA LARGE POPSICLES (Aunt Karen spoils us!)
GLOW IN THE DARK BOWLING!
LUTHI REUNION
We were able to get together with some of my cousins from the Luthi side. My cousin, Valerie, was bringing her son up to BYU Idaho. My cousin Ann and her husband hosted the gathering at their house. We enjoyed spending the afternoon visiting, eating and sharing memories.

GARDENING 101

DELICIOUS OR DISGUSTING?
This summer our ward was able to offer garden space donated by a family in the ward to anyone interested. We planted zucchini, crookneck, butternut, cucumbers, watermelon, cantaloupe, green beans, peppers, tomatoes, strawberries and quite a few pumpkins. We shared the garden with some friends so we could take turns watering. We learned some things we will not do again, were quite frustrated with things that we watered and took care of and didn't really produce, and enjoyed the things that did produce. Our watermelons had a hard time. They would just not get very big and if we didn't pick them soon enough they would start to get soft, split open and rot. Madison and Bailey went to the garden the other day with me and we decided to pick one since another one had started to rot. After Bailey ate her half of the watermelon, she told me she did not like warm watermelons that had seeds. She said it was DISGUSTING! I should have taken pictures of the garden but didn't. We were really excited about our pumpkin patch. My friend planted the pumpkins and she planted A LOT! Unfortunately, the aphids started to attack and I could not get rid of them. So we are picking the pumpkins now and hope they will keep until October. Pretty wishful thinking!
